Austin J40 Pathfinder and BMC J40

The J40 and Pathfinder were both built by disabled ex coalminers at Bargeod in South Wales from 1948 to 1971 using off cuts of steel from car production in the midlands, the factory was set up to give employment to Welsh miners who had been injured at work and could no longer work down the pits. The J40 continued production up to the 1970s, but unfortunately the Pathfinder was only produced for one year because of the complicated build.
